The project, “Learning around the World” is designed to equalize the different ethical groups of the world. It’s also designed for people to interact all among the world. When classifying people, color is usually the major categorizer. We mainly categorize ourselves as either black or white, or other, and usually it will tell you to circle one, if you are filling out a paper. To me this is an unfair way to categorize humans. We are all the same, and I don’t think it matters what color you are. All people are equal and deserve to be treated as equally as any other.
Today in society, many races are being mixed. Instead of just having blacks, whites, or others, we have blacks mixing with whites. What would their baby be classified? Or we have blacks mixing with Mexicans. What would there baby be classified? So as you can see many ethical groups are a form from this. To me I don’t think it’s a good idea to classify families in less than 3 groups. Families shouldn’t be classified like this, all humans are the same no matter what color they are.

Learning Around the World...
We were recently assigned a project called “Learning around the World”. This project was an excellent way to interact with people from other parts of the world. I chose to learn more about France. I chose France because I one day would like to travel there and see this land since I have never been out of the U.S as long as I have been alive. I recently set up a pen pal account on a safe pen pal site and sent a request to a male from France and I am currently waiting his reply.
France is known as officially French Republic. France is located in Western Europe and also comprises various oversea lands and territories located on other continents. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and form from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. People of France often refer to Metropolitan France as L’Hexagone (the “Hexagons”) because of the geometric shape of its territory.
France is bordered by Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Andorra, and Spain.
France has been one of the world's foremost powers since the latter half of the 17th century. In the 18th and 19th centuries, France built one of the largest colonial empires of the time, stretching across West Africa and Southeast Asia, prominently influencing the cultures and politics of the regions.
The name "France" comes from Latin Francia, which literally means "land of the Franks" or "Frankland". There are various theories as to the origin of the name of the Franks.
The French Republic is a unitary semi-presidential republic with strong democratic traditions. The constitution of the Fifth Republic was approved by referendum on 28 September 1958. It greatly strengthened the authority of the executive in relation to parliament. The executive branch itself has two leaders: the President of the Republic, currently Nicolas Sarkozy, who is head of state and is elected directly by universal adult suffrage for a 5-year term (formerly 7 years), and the Government, led by the president-appointed Prime Minister, currently François Fillon .I hope I receive a reply soon so I can learn as much as possible about not just France, but also the people in France. I think this is a great project.

Hey, I'm Travis Carty and I'm a senior at Magoffin County High School. I'm a huge sports fan and I have played ball for the high school for 4 years. I am a 21st century learner. I have been around technology all my life and as the years pass by the technology gets more advance. I wouldn't know what life would be like without technology.
